ARCHITECT: Galante Architecture

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
As part of the University’s Allston expansion, Galante Architecture was commissioned to design the new Harvard Ceramics Studio and Gallery, located in the heart of Barry’s Corner.  Expansive glazing and a new addition facing the street created an open and inviting space that allowed ease of visual and physical access for passersby, while a combination of Terra5 TC18 terracotta rainscreen and cor-ten steel panels helped the building’s façade reflect the craft that occurs within.

This reclad project incorporated TC18′s Terracotta tiles in four colors with a running-bond pattern. The building utilized a combination of Terracotta and Cor-ten steel panels. The choice of using multiple colors allowed Galante Architecture to turn heads with this new building.
